Cyclops are terrifyingly strong giants, wielding axes larger than a man that can cleave through even the toughest armor - or hide. Protected by unbelievably dense muscle and impact-absorbing fat, Cyclops are inordinately difficult to kill by blade or magic, and can quickly dispatch of anything their huge axe can reach. Though they do not eat, they seem to be affronted by the mere presence of nearby life - it instantly drives them into an unrelenting frenzy that does not quell until nothing but blood and bodies remain. Completely incapable of coexisting with even other monsters, Cyclops leave a swathe of destruction in their wake, though their danger means that they are usually dispatched relatively quickly compared to other monster types - the appearance of even a single cyclops is often enough to temporarily put a halt to border skirmishes as both sides call a truce, realizing that only in numbers will they stand a chance against these colossal beasts.
Cyclops generally have sky-high Strength, with enough Defense and Resistance to make putting them down a grueling task. Worse, while they are not particularly quick on their feet, they wield their crude axes with a sort of crude grace that belies the horrific speed with which they can bring it to bear on a foe. They are primarily melee fighters, but are quite capable of uprooting truly colossal boulders and hurling them at foes, making a Cyclops a lethal foe at any range - and one capable of fighting toe to toe with, or even overpowering, most dragons. For this reason, not even the laziest or most distracted of dragons can afford to ignore a Cyclops anywhere near their territory, leading to rare interspecies alliances as pragmatic dragons pre-emptively aid nearby human settlements and kingdoms in order to avoid danger to their own territory.
Cyclops range in overall power from a higher-leveled Advanced class to the upper reaches of Elite. Even the weakest of them are not something that can be overcome by Basic classes without teamwork, numbers, and generally some degree of local military support.
