Enormous, sorcerous eyeballs that float about supported by their own powerful magic. Unlike most monsters, Mogalls do not appear to feed at all, instead sustaining themselves on ambient magical energy and occasionally any mage unfortunate enough to drive them into a feeding frenzy. Interestingly, Mogalls appear to be crafted rather than adapted from wildlife as most monsters seem to be; the dark magic flowing through their bodies sustains them, the entire inside of their defining eyeball actually a massive network of neural hubs and transmitters dwarfing the brains of other species. What they do with that prodigious intellect is a hotly-debated topic, but they aren't telling, and in fact Mogalls are among the least violent of all monsters - so long as they are not disturbed by magic, they can even coexist in a very limited fashion with other races, albeit not so much true coexistence as mutually ignoring each other.
As inherently curious and seemingly non-aggressive creatures, Mogalls are perhaps the closest to tolerated among all monsters, though they are rightly feared by mages of all stripes. Even the generally inflexible Taguel occasionally tolerate Mogall dwellings, given that they do not use magic or generally see any need to risk driving these strange creatures into a corner. Dragons and humans alike are distrustful, but humans often lack the ability to safely oust these creatures and many dragons simply do not care to risk themselves against creatures that will otherwise not bother them.
In combat, Mogalls are extremely mobile casters, focusing Magic, Skill, and Speed. They use devastatingly powerful and nearly unavoidable ocular magic, their bodies wreathed in contrails of blackest magics as their unblinking gaze literally rips their foes apart. Without actual travel time, the only real defense against their magic is either extremely high resistance or learning to recognize the tell-tale hint of acrid hatred in the air moments and move before the magic within and around you erupts into shadow.
