Name: Zylo.
Age: Eighteen.
Class: Wolf Taguel. (20)
Appearance: Already within the stages of adulthood, Zylo's just about nearing as grown as he could appear before the time comes when he'd appear to stop aging all together. Not exactly a tall or short individual, but somewhere in between. Being a little carefree about his physical appearance, he generally doesn't mind just walking around with one of his torn robes that's completely lacking a body that were unfortunately ripped to shreds due to a little fight he was pushed into. It was already falling apart, so the young wolf simply dealt the honors of finishing it off. He wears a shirt sometimes. Depends on if he doesn't want to feel cold or not. And he abhors the thought of freezing to death. But hey, at least he still washes them! ...No matter how torn or worn clothes are, he at least doesn't take them for granted. Definitely doesn't take the lightweight gauntlets he wears for granted either. He was suggested in the past that he should protect his hands...or rather protecting others from the full impact of his fists. The fact that he hits harder without them on in his human form seemed strange as opposed to the gauntlets making his strikes stronger, even to his peers. Besides, if he was pushed in a corner long enough, he'd just break them himself and go wild...he's always needing to get new ones made for him because of this anyway.
However, his overall appearance gives off a rather calm, yet tense sort of air around him, likely because of the way he presents himself. He appears to be a quiet young Taguel, but the look of earnest and determination in his eyes shows that he's a lot more tougher than he appears. But of course, this all applies to when he's actually not alone or when he's training to hone his fighting prowess. If one were to know him personally and for a long time, they'd know Zylo has a rather two-sided personality. When he goes into overdrive, he takes on the appearance of a pure blue wolf. As expected for a Taguel, he doesn't exactly show mercy in this stage once pushed to this, the highest stage of his power. He considers taking his true form as a way of not looking back if his opponent clearly needs to fight him when he's more bestial in nature. Ironically, he doesn't like to shift very often so he changes when it's strictly necessary or needing to get somewhere faster as compared to the restricted movement speed of human form compared to his canine side.
Personality: Most of the time, Zylo never displays much of what makes up his character. While deep down he's kind and sympathetic to a fault, he masks it well with being able to actually exude a calm demeanor and can actually think very rationally at times when they're most definitely required. He understands at this point that by allowing his emotions to rile up on their own, they'd freely roam and can sometimes makes situations turn out either well or disastrous. But there are times that he also understands that he can't hold back on who he truly is and as such, he'd gladly show the driven side of him with pride. So past the mask he could form and break at will lies a taguel with the desire to give it his 150% effort at all he does or aims to accomplish. As such, he could be a little over the top in bettering himself in areas where he's currently weak. To the point where he'd train day and night without rest and unconsciously harming his body in the process. Of course, that applies in battle as well. In dire situations, he doesn't seem to know when to give himself a break or call it quits if the adrenaline kicks in hard enough for him to not even think about stopping, completely disregarding his rather natural trait to make rational and tactical decisions.
However contradictory to this, he's just straight up relaxed when the time calls for it...to the point where if he's tired or just simply bored, he'd find somewhere and doze off...literally anywhere. Some places he chooses to "nap" are simply areas one wouldn't imagine, regardless if they were taguel, human or whatever. If he's not sleeping (which he does most on free time), he's likely just off in his own little world, distant from anyone else as he enjoys the moments of peace and solitude he'd have access to. Despite being a bit of an overachiever, he takes relaxation time up at every opportunity and doesn't like waste a single moment. He possess a unique double-edged personality. At times he's calm, while others he's extremely focused and a bit on the violent side...at least he doesn't display it rudely or overdo brutality fighting-wise.
Despite being the type to clam himself up and rather walk the path of a lone wolf, he does hold family in it's highest regard and leans on that for support and vice versa. More towards his older sister, Zyra to be specific. Even though he ends up nearly destroying himself during his training or being his usual overachieving self, the nagging and scolding from his older sibling is only a sign of concern and he knows it full well instead of getting angry back at her all the time. Knowing how much family means to him, he tries his best to keep his sister close and protected even if she's pretty much seeming to want to do the same for him. He still looks up to and admires her for how strong she is from his own personal view, so even more of the reason to keep the bond strong.
Backstory: Given that the young wolf can't recall for the life of him any other family he's had, all of his memories as a child were with Zyra. Of course, when he was still a small kid, he didn't really know what "parents" were at the time (or rather was too young to even understand that completely) and was pretty carefree of everything that wasn't his sister. Over all the years he could remember, Zyra took great care of him and as a result of her protection, kid Zylo never had much of a worry in the world. He was more concerned about having fun and with his sister too. Of course, over time he got curious when he learned a bit more and asked about their parents. He was told about their deaths in a way that didn't exactly imply that they were "killed", so he didn't worry about it too much or grieve at all.
When fighting came into the picture, Zylo felt something as he watched his sister go. A familiar and innate liking to combat. Something about it...the movements, and the show of fury displayed, it all inspired him learn how to do that too. And he couldn't help but admire his big sis on being so strong and able to do something so cool (to him it was).
As he grew up further, he learned more about his race, some survival skills...as well as other knowledge you could call "common sense". Though it seemed like his sister was outright avoiding it on teaching him how to actually fight. That's really all he wanted to know. Zylo was sure that his younger self drove his sister nuts with all the constant begging, which over time he got what he wanted like a spoiled brat. Every movement, technique and instruction he was taught, he drilled it within his mind, fearing that he'll forget. He wanted to be strong like his big sis...aaaaand that's where it all went crazy. Over time, his competitive nature became more apparent...like it was waiting for this very moment in time to awaken. Not only did he have the desire to be just like Zyra, but that soon began to have a second meaning behind it. As such, he wanted to best her as well. He picked up on that trait of hers to give it his 150%, though whether it was naturally within his character or from watching his sister go was a completely different story.
So he devoted himself to becoming even stronger with all he was taught. He trained his mind and body day and night, without rest. He always had a mental quote in his head as he trained, saying, "If Zyra gives it her 150 too, then I'll it give my 151!" as a way to push himself even further. But competition simply wasn't the only thing that was driving him. Over the years, he also began to realize the world was a pretty dangerous place and there would be no guarantee for both of their safeties. As such, he felt the need to return his sister's kindness by making sure he was strong enough to protect her from any seeking her out. He liked to play the little guardian over the actual guardian herself, but he was very serious about it. If he lost her, he had no idea what he would do, as he followed Zyra around everywhere she went (well, he was supposed to anyway).
However, as time passed more and he grew within the stages of adulthood, that desire never changed. And since he still wanted to be stronger, he learned how to mask his true feelings well enough to say his new side of him was natural. Controlled. To become a great warrior, he had to calm his mind and focus on his goals much more seriously than let all his emotions burst at once. In order to achieve greatness, one had to be in complete control over their emotions. His violent side got him in more trouble than he could imagine when he began to have a taste of true combat over the years, and that was something he couldn't allow to fly any longer. His actions could get Zyra in trouble as well. His solution? More brutal training. His tough training exercises transformed from simply pushing himself too far to the point of breaking his body. He even trained on days where he was completely sore all over...where any normal person couldn't even move their arms and legs without screaming in pain. And as a result of the rigorous training, he learned how to move so fluidly with much rapid speed to where his foes could barely keep up with him, even see his fist...or him darting right at them.
Sure, he got bigger, faster, and stronger than before...and but he still felt like he was a step below his sister. But instead of wallowing in envy and disappointment in himself, he just kept training. He had to get stronger not only for himself, but for her as well. Competition can be very...complex sometimes.
