Silver Tongues[EVENT]

[Alison]

As Alison wondered the streets of a city in Ibium not too far from the Actona border she saw the distress of the possibility of war had brought to it's people. From what she could see, there was no good for war. No matter who won or lost, the ones who truly loses is the citizens. She had heard some of the towns people talking about an ice dragon by the name of Seath and if they could some how convince him to join them they could end the war before it actually began. She had never personally never saw how powerful a dragon was, let alone meet one, but if they're as powerful as people say then that wouldn't end well for anybody. Her mind was set, she was to travel north to find this Seath and convince him not to interfere.

As she crossed the border she had entered a small town who looked almost as panicked as the one she saw in Ibium, this had reinforced her worries about a war breaking out. She wasn't gifted with a silver tongue, trying to talk the leaders out of a war would be next to impossible, but so would be getting a dragon to stay out of this war. She had hoped that getting one person to side with her ideology was the easier option of the two, maybe bringing a gift of some sort will help her cause? The biggest question is what does one get to bribe a dragon? This she did know, what she had to offer could not compare to a country trying to buy the dragon's aid, perhaps she should try to work her charm and, which kills her to think of, use her innocent child looks to melt his icy dragon heart into submission. As Alison began her quest to find Seath she practiced her sad puppy dog look as she prepared herself mentally on talking him out of the war.

[Caelduin Odintongue]

As Caelduin made his way into the small town on the border of Actona and Ibium, his stomach was in the pits. His experience with the human Soleil had not gone as he had planned, and, to make matters worse, he had not been able to secure passage elsewhere. Instead, he had been forced to make his way on foot to the nearest town he could find, which happened to be in Ibium. The town itself had been in an uproar as he arrived, with humans scuttling to and fro, clucking to each other about the minor occurrences of their country. There was talk of petty squabbles between their leaders and even the occasional whisper of war. It mattered not to Caelduin. Humans were always at war, it seemed and they often had little effect on the greater workings of the world. Still, Cael knew an opportunity to gain power when he saw one. He had made several inquiries around town, and, when he had learned what he could, he secured passage to the Ibium capital. Upon arrival, he wasted no time locating those coordinating the forces of Ibium. He offered them his services as a diplomat and they were quickly won over by his silver tongue and his noble charms. They had quickly given him an assignment and that was where he found himself now.

The town he found himself in was of no consequence to him. It was but another step on his way to his final destination. Yet, he found himself taking a momentary pause in the town's square, glaring up at the rather exquisite mansion that sat on a nearby mountain overlooking the town. The sight of it filled him with dread, but he would nonetheless have to face its owner, the ice dragon Seath, and convince him that the Ibium cause was just. The two had met once before, when Caelduin had been a young hatchling. His father had gone there to secure a loan from the ice dragon and had taken a young Cael along. He remembered little about him and he had given the young dragon little more than a passing greeting, but he had the sinking feeling that Seath would recognize his name and the reputation it carried. Still, he was a crucial resource for his employers, and if he could secure it, he would gain a significant amount of influence. With a sigh, Caelduin swallowed his pride and made his way out of town.

[Morgoth]

Morgoth ignored the few people walking the streets. It had been a while since he had unsucessfully conned some people into helping him start a "mercenary" group.  In fact, it had failed as much as it had in his own time, leaving him wondering how to go about his plans. In the end he realized he needed to try darker methods, truly do what he wanted in order to get it. No more attempting from the ground up, he would jump in and seize what he needed. Which was bound to get him in trouble, but he was tired of waiting. Which was what brought him here. 

After hearing news of war brewing in the south Morgoth traveled to Actona, looking to see where he might be able to push and make things fall. That's when he was approached by member's of their government, looking for mercenaries. They told him of a dragon that lived on the boarder that might be swayed to their side. After receiving the details he kindly declined, telling them he would think about it. And think about it he did, in fact, it had given him the perfect opportunity he had been looking for. Which was why he had his unflinching gaze at the mansion on the mountain. Who else would be there? What side did they choose? And would he be able to send both sides to the abyss. A grin spread across Morgoth's lips as he thought of the possibilities. At least one side would fall, but who? Who would be the first piece in a long line of death, and how many would it take to open their eyes? These thoughts clouded his mind as he made his way up the mountain.
