Name: Helswintha of Jugo (Hel)
Age: 17
Class: Shaman
Appearance: Hel is lithe and thin, though some would call it frail. She had round green eyes, but an otherwise angular face. Her indoor studies have left her skin pale and unblemished. She wears her dark scarlet hair free of adornments, liking the way it flows and swings when she casts spells. Overall, she is fairly attractive, though she would blend in to a crowd.
Personality: Hel, unlike many in her profession, is a kind, caring individual. She had a natural gift for sorcery, passed down from her father, but often left her studies to converse with the people of her village. Many knew and loved her kind heart, and often asked and returned favors from her. Like her magic, her demeanor was givin to her by her father, Nav. Nav grew up in Jugo, and returned after his studies and adventures abroad. Though he could make a much better living in a city, he returned to his home town to work as an herbalist, gaining popularity as a great healer and seer. the people of Jugo await the day Hel continues her father's work.
Backstory: Helswintha was born to Nav and Luce, in the small town of Jugo, in eastern Elibe. Nav had learned dark and healing magics from a great school in norther Elibe, but returned home to serve his people and marry his childhood love. They had three children, though Hel was the youngest, and the only one to survive to adulthood.
When Hel was five, her mother grew ill, and despite her father's best attempts at healing her, and the townspeople's prayers, passes into the aether. This affected her father greatly, who withdrew from the village for a time. It was only the people's urging, love, and kindness that helped him through those dark days. Hel showed the ability for magic not soon after her mother's passing, giving Nav another reason to hold on to his life. He doted on his surviving daughter, teaching her all he knew of the elder magics, herbalism, and civic-mindedness.
Hel grew to love the people of Jugo, and lived a quiet, no-noteworthy life. Until now. She woke up with a tremendous headache, and her father complained of the same. he said he had an unnerving dream, and told her that her loved her above all else in the world. Then the sky was rent with roars, and her father bid her to go to the cellar. he followed her, and wordlessly pushed her into a circle of runes. he was crying as he said she would live, and then recited a spell. An orb of blackness blossomed from the ground, enveloping Hel with a soft, cushioning darkness. She knew a protection spell when she saw one. The spell would last as long as it would need to, and Hel dreaded what she would find when it lifted.
