Everyone, from new members to administrators, is required to follow these rules at all times. The staff reserves the right to hand out verbal warnings, board warnings, temporary bans, permanent bans, or other punishment, as appropriate for the offense, at their sole discretion. Translation out of legalese: we'd rather not have to ruin anyone's day, but we will if we have to for the good of the site.
Out of Character [OOC]
- Please register with your character's name, whether the full thing, just the first name, or even a nickname.
- No flaming, trolling, or otherwise being a fail. We're here to have fun, not bring the Dramapocalypse upon the world.
- Fire Emblem: Nocturne is rated PG-13, both in-character and out. No explicit sex or discussion thereof, keep swearing to a minimum and avoid the more offensive curse words, and try not to get too gross in fights. At least not to the point of consistently squicking people out, anyways.
- Don't beg for posts. Don't harass people for posts. It's annoying to read and just as bad to deal with.
- Keep all advertisements to the advertising board. Not doing so is tacky and disrespectful.
- Sigs should be kept tasteful and relatively small. If yours causes problems, we will delete it.
- Do not use font smaller than the default. It's harder to read and doesn't actually look better.
- The above rules mostly boil down to one thing: mutual respect. Don't be a failboat, and we'll all be happier.
In Character [IC]
- No godmodding or powerplaying - your character is not an invincible demigod capable of killing thousands of men at once, and controlling the characters of other players is horrible etiquette.
- No one-liners. Multiple posts in a row is generally frowned upon, but if you must do so for some reason, each post must be at least four sentences long. Failing to follow these rules will result in post deletion and loss of two post count per offending post, as well as all gold gained from these posts.
- Wait for your character to be approved before beginning to post. Much like above, failure to follow this rule will result in offending posts being deleted and your post count/gold removed.
- You must go through the Shop (top bar, or follow this link) in order to permanently gain items and weapons. You can certainly pick up a slain foe's Steel Lance for a post or three, but cannot keep looted weapons between topics.
- You may be in up to three (non-support) topics at once per character, but pace yourself to avoid getting overwhelmed. There is no limit on support topics, but the same informal suggestion applies - juggling 37 topics is a quick route to burning out entirely on a character.
- Killing other player characters unless you both agree on it: not ok. The staff reserves the right to ROCKS FALL anyone who abuses fictional immortality - actions have consequences. We just don't want to see you lose your favorite character because someone decided to go around killing anyone weaker than them.
