Elibe is a world of magic and mystery, a sprawling continent filled with danger at every turn. Monsters scour any civilization that cannot protect itself, and magical creatures, ranging from dragons to mythological youkai, populate the land in smaller tribes and clans of their own. Sometimes aiding humanity, sometimes adversarial; while not always friendly to humanity they are at least not dedicated to its extermination. Smaller human kingdoms and would-be empires dot the lands of Elibe, but the last major human holdout is the massive civilization in the heart of the Lycian Divide, partially cut off from the more dangerous Outer Reaches by a massive ring of mountains. And yet despite the shadows looming over the fragments of a once-united Elibe, it is still the Age of Heroes, a time when magic allowed men to fight monsters rather than meekly give way to injustice.
Explore a crumbling world as war looms on the horizon and leave your mark from any perspective, whether a human hero, a bored dragon, or any of the countless species of youkai trying to survive in the world; fox-like Kitsune, the spider-aspected Jorōgumo, a capricious Fae, the eldritch Fair Folk, or even magical and clockwork automatons - or make your own flavor of youkai. Worldly creatures not your thing? Celestials are beings born of song who hail from the mercurial Aether, while Abyssals are creatures of darkness fueled by emotion. Important parts of the setting are already worked out, but there's plenty of room to create new kingdoms and describe them, even getting them permanently added to the lore as canon locations! Even the mechanics are built to enable character concepts rather than limit them, leaving immense room to 'fluff' your character's combat style and magic as you please.
While Nocturne is set before the Scouring from Fire Emblem 6/7 lore, the actual setting is mostly original and requires little to no knowledge of the games to play; anything important is written on the site. If original fantasy with a focus on creativity and member involvement sounds interesting, give us a shot!
