Registration Overview
A character profile is a place for you to summarize the most important qualities of a character, primarily for the benefit of the people you roleplay with, but actually writing out your character can help flesh them out and offer ideas on how to roleplay them. Essentially, what you're looking to do here is give us an overview of your character's appearance, personality, and backstory - what they look like, who they are, and what made them that way. Backstory hooks are a great way to add a bit of zest to your adventures, and knowing where the character came from can help you alter your RP style as appropriate while in their home town/country. Feel free to create an original small kingdom, there are plenty of those scattered across Elibe, or just use a canon area.
Basic Rules & Pre-Promotes
By default, you start at level one of a basic tier class, such as Myrimidon or Manakete (Fire), with 20 stats to distribute as you please. You start with one weapon, appropriate to class and tier, and no gold. Dragons and Taguel work the same way, but start with the appropriate Stone type instead. Basic classes begin with Iron weapons, Advanced classes with Steel, Elite classes with Silver - same general idea for magic users, just ranging from tier 1-3 magic (ex. Fire, Elfire, Arcfire) instead. Staff users begin with Heal Staves or a pet Bonewalker summoning staff, because they're hardcore.
If your character concept relies on a character already being at least somewhat competent, you may start off at any level of any class - it is perfectly fine to start off as a 30/1 Manakete or a 20/5 Sage. However, you count as 0 posts for the purposes of milestones - whether you start as a level 1 Myrmidon or a 20/20/20 Trueblade, you still need 100 posts to get the 100 post human milestone. You also do not gain experience towards the next level until you would normally reach that point; starting as a lvl 20 Archer, you would not be able to reach Sniper until you hit 200 posts. Please note that Pre-Promotes are held to a much higher standard at character generation - this is not so much free reign to be insanely strong on every character so much as an opportunity to realize character concepts that would otherwise be difficult or impossible to pull off with a level 1 weakling. Put some work into your reg if you want to get accepted, and explain why you need to start off strong.
Some more common breakpoints:
Level 1 (Basic): 20 stats
Level 20/1 (Advanced): 80 stats
Level 20/20/1 (Elite): 180 stats
Level 20/20/20 (cap): 240 stats
Way of the Warrior Character Imports
If you have a character on our linked possible-future site, Way of the Warrior, you may essentially copy them over to Nocturne, which is set roughly 1100 years before WotW's time. Suffice it to say that timeline shenanigans are involved, but basically the character is "copied" over to Nocturne, hurled through time by methods unknown and deposited unceremoniously in the past with little-to-no memory of the transition, but the absolute knowledge that they are in this new world to do... something. Unfortunately, whoever or whatever convinced them of that didn't really get around to explaining what to them, and no one in their right mind will believe anyone who claims to be a time traveler, so... good luck with that! Memories do generally transfer, but there may be gaps or even total amnesia, depending on how you want to play it off. Import characters are completely disassociated with the "base" character, meaning that any further progress on WotW is not reflected here, nor is character growth here reflected there. The actual mechanics of the transfer are simple: you use Pre-Promote rules. Weapons and items do not transfer; supports and relationships may at your discretion.
