We're closing in on a month of being open, but THE RIDE NEVER ENDS and my fiddling with things really doesn't either. While there have been plenty of smaller changes and lore will continue to be added, there are a few major changes that deserve attention in order to ensure people are aware of them.
Dragons - Breath, Evocation, and Avatar abilities decoupled from Strength and moved to Magic. Translation: the magic-ey stuff you do is now based on your Magic stat, so dragons no longer have a completely worthless stat. While you still get these abilities regardless of your Magic stat, be aware that they will be more for background and aesthetic use if for some reason you choose to go with a 0/low-Magic build. Additionally Dragons are also now team players, boosting magic in their vicinity after the use of a breath attack or other elemental shenanigans; this is tied to their nature as essentially giant nuclear reactors for magical energy.
Taguel - reworked entirely! As befits their identity as the champions of adaptation and evolution, Taguel can now pick from a set of special abilities with varying effects at 0 posts, and then gain an extra ability of their choice at certain breakpoints thereafter, with other breakpoints lowering cooldowns or enhancing the effects of those abilities. Essentially, Taguel will tend to get more and more unique as they level up and chart their own course through their abilities; they can still buy Melee Skills from the shop as normal, meaning that Taguel will generally be very active in combat with plenty of options for any situation, though they do not get as much "free" power as dragons and humans do from their milestones. There are also two now families of Taguel, ursine and canine, split into four tribes: Bear, Fox, Hound, and Wolf.
Finally, the bad news - the monetary system plugin has been pretty inconsistent since the start, with most of its issues tied to Quick Reply. Since we couldn't fix them, we've opted to turn Quick Reply gold off. That means you'll need to go into a fully reply before posting if you want to earn gold normally for the post. It sucks a bit for those of us who primarily use Quick Reply, but it was either that or I have to fix multiple gold totals every day, and that would get unsustainable pretty quickly as our activities continues to surge upwards and especially once people start buying stuff. It's easy enough to match 10 posts to 100 gold now, but having to check profiles and see if they bought anything with the "missing" gold isn't really a reasonable solution.
I'm pretty excited to see how nicely the site has taken off, and will continue to add lore and fine-tune things as needed. As long as you guys (and girls, and dragons, and bunny girls, and bird ladies, and... etc) are having fun, I'm happy.
